If you use condoms their is no baby conceived so it could never be considered abortion.
If you use the pill a fetus can be created but would be flushed away with your period as the womb will not allow it to implant. Some people consider the fact that a fetus is created and not allowed to grow an abortion...

Birth control pills and condoms is not a form of abortion. It is a way of preventing the pregnancy. However, IUD's are considered by many as a form of abortion since the copper in the IUD prevents a fertilized egg from growing or attaching to the uterus. Then there are the morning after pills which were originally meant for women who were victims of sexual assault, but are now sometimes used as birth control. They prevent any fertilized eggs from growth.

No because using birth control pills prevents an egg from being released and condoms block sperm so the 2 never meet to develop into a fetus. Abortion happens after the fact of the egg and sperm meeting and it terminates an embryo that would develop into a baby. An egg or sperm by itself is just cells kind of like your skin or hair cells. Yes it is a living organism but they don't have the potential to go any further. Think about this if you don't take birthcontrol you body releases an egg every cycle and it dies and passes out of your body with your period. So it is in a sense the same thing. Best of luck!!!

It is not a form of abortion in the least, but I could see why you might have this question. I'm not trying to religion bash, but to get married in the catholic church, my husband and I had to attend a retreat. At the retreat, they made very clear that their stance on birth control was so strong because they parallel it to abortion. You are preventing the natural process of a baby being conceived by using contraception. Conception is supposed to be determined by God, not humans.
Disclaimer: I did not say these were my beliefs AND I'm not trying to start a religious debate. This is simply the explanation I got from the catholic church that hosted the retreat. I know there is a wide spectrum of beliefs and I am just passing on one that I heard that fits with this particular question.

honeyb1 is exactly right. Oral contraceptives prevents eggs from being released at all (ovulation) due to the hormones that are in birth control pills & condoms keeps sperm from the egg. An abortion is when a fetus/embryo already exists and is then intentionally terminated .

It's only abortion if conception took place first. Birth control pills and condoms prevent that from happening at all (well, supposed to, but nothing is 100%).

No. An abortion can be voluntary in which case, one of various types of surgery/procedures is done to remove and embryo or fetus from a woman's uterus. It can also be a spontaneous abortion also called a miscarriage which is when an embryo fails to mature in a womans uterus. Contraceptives are used to prevent pregnancy, not end a pregnancy.

Birth control is the only right way to not have a baby. It is the only way I see moral. Other than abstinence of course. Because you are preventing the sperm from ever meeting the egg...the two puzzle pieces are never connected...so therefore can never be broke in an abortion.

Not really. Th eonyl thing that would even come close would be the pill. With it, if conception occurs, it will prevent the egg from implanting into the uterine wall. With everything else, conception is prevented.

Condoms (and other barrier methods) - no. It prevents the sperm from reaching the egg.
The Pill - possibly. The pill works by ensuring you menstruate regardless of if conception has taken place or not - so technically you could be disposing of a viable embryo.
