I bought a gold sygnet ring for my husband when we got engaged. He died 16 months after we were married when my daughter was a baby.
I can't get my wedding ring on now as my fingers are bigger so, rather than have the rings lying in a drawer, I took my husband's engagement ring and wedding ring, my wedding ring and a small gold ring belonging to my daughter to a goldsmith. My daughter designed a ring and it was made specially for her from all of our rings. This ring is the most expensive thing I've bought for someone as it cost a lot to get made etc.
For obvious reasons, the ring is extremely precious to my daughter.

2 tickets for Billy Idol for me and my bf, not very expensive but only thing that comes to mind. Um, also some Nike trainers that he wore once..

a lamp ,it was a sculpture of a damn rabbit going fishing with an umbrella,under the umbrella was the light, cost me bloody $130 and a week later the damn ear fell off and the umbrella caught alight, well it was a gift to my girl friend, funny thing is she still uses it,hahaha
