i follow string theory. this theory states that small piece of invisible matter called quarks make up everything that exists. some quarks can travel between dimensions. if string theory is correct then we are part of a never ending paradox. many physicists believe that black holes are entrances to separate dimensions or universes. it is upon this theory that we believe we know how the big bang occurred. matter inside a black hole (an unimaginable amount) was released with such a force that it will never stop expanding.

I find it amazing how gravity works in such a way that we can look like little people walking around upright no matter where in the world.

The universe is way out of my league, I probably don't think about it so much because I really haven't been told anything. But it is amazingly HUGE, and I do question God and the theory behind it ... Where did God come from BEFORE the universe etc.

Hello Gela...

First: We don't have the Universe...The Universe has us.

Width of the Universe: At this time we have solid reports from Astronomers that they have observed objects in space with optical telescopes at distances of 13.7 Billion Light Years.
Using Radio Telescopes they have detected objects in space as far away as 40 Billion Light Years in all directions from Earth. So, space is vast beyond our normal comprehension. There is no measurement of the total extent of space at this time.

here's some food for thought:

The Milky Way is moving through space at a speed of 1,000,000 miles per hour.

Doesn't that just boggle the brain!

All the time, hunny...all the time.
Read "A breif history of time" by Stephen Hawking.
It tells you a lot about how time and universe started without using too many jargons.

Yes, it is a mind boggling question. Its amazing to think how small we are compared to the entire universe, or even this solar system.
