pinking (or pinging) is another name for preignition. commonly caused by poor quality fuel, compression ratio too high, driving in too high a gear or too much ignition advance.
poor quality fuel can be fixed by changing fuel.
too much advance can be fixed by either retarding the timing or adding an octane booster to your fuel.
too high compression ration is a problem. either the engine was built with too much compression (rare these days, but not unheard of) and you need to yell at the engine builder, or the heads are choked up with carbon, filling the space in the combustion chamber. time to refresh the engine with a rebuild
if its because of too high a gear, slap yourself in the head and go down a gear at the hill
my bet would be to add some octane boost to the fuel and see if that makes a difference. if so it may need to be retimed. if that doesnt work, time to get some quotes

Detonation Ping! is most often caused by glowing carbon left over from combustion. Better fuel grades help. I would also add a couple bottles of Chevron Techron fuel additive during the next couple of fill ups to clean carbon. In old day's we reved up the motor and poured water down the carburator. Do not do that on today's cars. Hopefully your cars pistons and combustion chambers will clean up so you can return to regular fuel. But please check with the manufactures handbook for proper fuel octane.

Get a octane booster like TORQO
That you can add to a full tank of cheap gas and bring it up to a 98 octane or more.
