Yes, this is quite common practise to avoid having your period at the time of a special event. You should NEVER run more than 3 packs in succession though.

Yes. If you skip your placebo week/week off of the pill, then you are likely to skip your period. Although, if you're taking a pill where the hormones are different each week (the pills will be different colors) than your more likely to experience break through bleeding or spotting than completely skipping your period. It is safe to do this, but it is recommended that you allow yourself at least 4 periods per year, so once every three months you should bleed. Doing this does not compromise your protection in any way, so you still only have to have the very slightest worry about an unwanted pregnancy.

If you want to put off your period for a while, take your pills each day for 21 days and then instead of taking a seven-day interval, continue with the next pack. The extension can be carried on for as long as wished until the end of the second pack. Then take your 7-day interval and just continue taking the pill as usual.
Hope this helps

Apparently so, but when I tried to do this it made me feel really ill for some reason!!! I'm sure many women do run 2 packs together without any problems though.

Not normally but you do not always get a breakthrough bleed if on high dose or continous pill taking.

Check with your GP and do a pregnancy test'

It MAY. It is not 100% certain that you will skip your period. You could still have it, or if you skip it it could take months to get your cycle back on track.

I skipped it before and it took forever to get back on track. I personally would never do it again.
