We put a contract on a house, got the inspection or appraisal, found out we needed to do some touch up painting, so we did. we are now waiting for the survey, my question is, after putting in 2 1/2 days of painting this house, can they come back and say we cant have the house. We have our approval from the mortage company, and just waiting for the survey, is there a chance some one could change there mind, and we do this painting for nothing.

The house is part of an estate, and in order to get a FHA loan, the paint had to be touched up. FHA will not approve a house with chipped or peeling paint.

When you put an offer on a house there are contingencies. Any one of these contingencies can cause the transaction to be cancelled by one of the parties. In this case, it sounds as if all the contingencies have been met. Check your contract to be sure there are no more contingencies.

As for the FHA financing, if the inspector does not approve it, then ask the seller to make any additional repairs or escrow for them.

You are at risk until you go to settlement and sign the papers. Don't invest any more time or money than you have to.
