I cannot, in all honesty, say I am qualified to answer the question. This is my first time, ever, to answer anything in this section. I never even knew this section existed.

Can we just treat this as my "Thank You" to you, Papa Chuck, for introducing me to this section.

I am a man, and as such, a lover of women. I can't believe anybody, any man in his right mind, could hate women. There
were times when I was angry with my mother and older sisters when they spanked me as a child (and a brat I was, really) but I never ever hated them for it.

The only reason I could think of, is that it is because of spurned men, venting their ire on this section. But spurned love, is love still. Though clothed as hate, may be they just need help to be uncloaked, and reveal love as pure as the crystal rivers, running through the vales of our ideals.

I know, it's a broken record and even more broken is the "just ignore the trolls" response. But ignoring the "trolls" (and you should be carefully who you consider a troll btw, a couple male posters here have been labeled troll unfairly imo) will ultimately make the forum a happier place. Also your own level of humility and open mindedness will be key in how much you will learn from the q/a here, as with many areas of life really.

You know the discussions here have taught me allot about feminism, but more then that I have learned to thicken my skin, so I welcome the debated in this forum now with open arms, knowing that I can learn allot from the well versed feminist and also the anti-feminist with there funny comments!

brother happy - not that I necessary agree with the feminist comment BUT "hate bounces"... hahaha priceless!

Once the tone is set, people have a tendency to respond
in-kind.

It takes a lot of maturity, and self-control to remain civil and respectful when there is so much exchange of hate all around. Often people get sucked into it despite their best intentions.

I found a number of the responses to this question quite telling. This forum is a magnet for antifeminists who have been indoctrinated to believe that feminism is a hate movement, and who love to parrot the responses they have rehearsed so many times.

I try not to be hateful, even when I disagree with someone, as I sometimes do.

While I don't believe civil discourse is a lost art, I do think many have misplaced it.

We are much more likely to persuade others when we remain calm. We are also more likely to see reason when we avoid anger and hate.

Persuasion and reason are worth doing. Hope more people will try and practice them.

You are right, and there are limits.

Yesterday there was this cruel horrible question. It was a description of how this guy was going to take out the ovaries of a woman and kick them. I will not go into details as the image of that description makes my stomach hurt. If you add, all the rest of denigrating questions, it comes a moment that you feel there are too many fascists in here.

Someone is against feminism, ok, let's have a respectful debate, but many in here brand a flag of hate. For the last two days, I have posted questions that concern men and women, expecting to be fair to the winning anti-feminists that say that feminism concentrate in women (well hello, each social science specializes in a subject, as well as science: botanic is about plants NOT the star system lol).
No response from them to questions that concern men either...so I come to the conclusion that is just about hate...the amount of hate mails I have gotten is amazing, I have a good collection.

I was interested in the topic when I came here, but I didn't consider myself a feminist, after a couple of months I have become one and my library is full of books on the theme. These haters are creating exacty what they oppose.

Thanks for you question :-)

You think this is bad? Spend a day in the religion section. It's a war zone over there.

There'll always be issues about it. It's idealistic to think that there'll come a time when there won't be.

I guess it's mostly because people have different experiences about it, and don't always chime.

I agree with Greg and Warren D.
