Once you start losing the weight, motivation is created more easily because you can see results.
Ways of losing weight fast and safely are:
Don't snack between meals and follow the two-thirds plate philosophy. Eating less daily will reduce weight and quitting alcohol totally will see pounds drop off in weeks because ingested alcohol turns to sugar in the blood stream.
The two-thirds idea is basically when serving a meal don't have the food right to the edges and over flowing, make sure the food only covers two-thirds of the plate surface before you start and don't go back for more.
The will power is then not to snack between meals. If you do find yourself hungry between meals eat a raw carrot, or a piece of fruit or drink a glass of water because the body mixes hunger and thirst messages sometimes. (Water isn't very fattening is it).
Then get out doors for a daily walk, gentle exercise is best if you're not used to it. First walk somewhere at a normal pace for 30 minutes, then turn around and walk the same route back home in 20 minutes.

Take a full body picture of you in your underwear. Get one taken from the side as well and don't pull or breathe in. Stick them where you can see it everyday. Then when you see them you will get a spur - I want to get away from that! I found this can help.
Not recommended for where your co-workers can see!
PS Self- motivation is hard, you might want to try enlisting the help of friends and family to remind you etc. Someone else who is serious about losing weight can be your 'buddy' and you can motivate each other! After that, self-motivation comes easier.

Just look at the beauty of a park in autumn colors, forget about the motivation and go for a walk, enjoy some fresh air and you will come to like it...and if you like something enough, you don't need any further motivation...

First step is to do something you enjoy but that also gets you fit. If you dread trudging along on a treadmill, you'll just not do it. However if you find a sport/hobby that you enjoy, you'll be motivated to keep going. Try and find out about fitness classes (e.g. I go to legs tums and bums and keep going back because I think it's a laugh). Your local sports centre will probably have loads of different classes - even take up a martial art!
When it comes to food, you really have to rely on your will power. Eat filling meals and you'll want to snack less. If you find yourself snacking a lot, make a fruit box up before you go to work (I make one of cut up strawberries, grapes and melon) and this will hopefully take away the snacking craving but also help you towards your 5-a-day.

Don't look at the whole picture.It can be too daunting.
Keep your goals small at first so you are more likely to achieve them.
i.e -Today only walk round the block & don't have that packet of crisps.
Tomorrow do exactly the same thing.
Keep repeating it everyday until you are ready to it take a step further.
If only if we do too much too soon we tend to give up.
