And do you think not even credit is given USSR for the victory over Nazism? I mean all I ever hear is America America America saved everything rhetoric in the West.
I mean, I've had a few times where I've had people say, Oh yeah, Russia has a bad history, fighting with teh Germans and stuff...I mean WTF?!?! I even heard that in a speech once! Lol

They had a lot losses. So much I dont wanna think about number. Looses of the Russian nation is 15 times more than the losses of jewish people we all hear about. And yes you're right. It is Russians who won the WW2.
But America has Hollywood and so we all know general McArthur but very few have ever heard of Zoukov.
Pitty.
And something else just for history's sake. There is a small nation that contributed too much in WW2. Greeks.

The truth is, nobody knows. Demographic estimates vary between 15 and 40 million, but WWII is only partially to blame.

While Nazis definitely committed horrible atrocities in the occupied Soviet territories, it is highly likely that some of the atrocities attributed to the Nazis were actually committed by Soviet authorities and later blamed on the Nazis.

One highly publicized case is the Katyn massacre; several thousand of Polish POWs were executed as early as in 1940, but later the whole thing was successfully (for the purposes of domestic consumption at least) blamed on the Nazis, who purportedly committed it in the summer of 1941.

The truth about Katyn eventually came out because the Poles continued to demand it. When only Soviet citizens were involved, nobody seems to care...

around 30.000.000,germans(with balts and slovaks) fired villages with people in wood churches or ambars,shoot them,it was genocide of east slavs at west Russia.But near 20.000.000 died in batlfields,so USA saved USSR in 1941-42 by food abd recurces support,but the arm which wom Germany is Russia,because in WEst front were fighting just 20% of german army ,in east front its 80%,so and USA entered to the war in 1944 at Normandy front,russians already were been around Germany,better start and finish war in the end of war then you lose not huge number of soldiers,thats why in america al say that they won ,but dont think so,USSR rebuilt country by system of free power Gulag for 5 years,with capitalism it can took 20 years for reconstructions.So i know that in USA all know just about USA but nothing about others.
