I am against Bush and all he stands for and when I say that I get accused of being anti-American.
Can't we be anti-Bush and not anti-American because I can see the difference between the two why can't others?

I should add that I am an Australian
Thats what I mean about why can't you support Americans but not Bush.
There must be a difference

You know I couldn't work out how Bush got voted back in but after reading some the answers I now know.

Thanks Ray T and Amberwaves for giving me faith that some Americans do think outside the square.

Don't worry, there are many of us in the same boat. I love America this is why I am against what the President stands for. I am not a Democrat nor am I a Republican ! I am your middle of the road American citizen. I am the daughter of many patriots and I consider myself a patriot. My family on my father's side has been here since 1580! We have fought in just about every American war. I will not accept that a difference of opinion renders me anti American! I love my country and am willing to die for her. I want to keep her out of the hands of those that would take away what we stand for as a country, and those who would do away with our constitution! Whoever is saying this is the least patriotic because America was always the place for free thinkers and people who could say what they thought without worrying about being called unpatriotic. These people who are calling you "anti American" are the ones that are content to be one of the controlled masses! America was founded on "We The People"! Not we the Bush Administration! We need critical thinkers since there seems to be very few of us around these days! You are a true American! Continue to speak out! Let's take America back this election for the people! Find a candidate who is pro constitution and anti North American Union! Who will enforce our illegal immigration laws and secure our borders! Let's get our country back!

This has been the worst job performance of any president to take office! If I did my job like this.....I would be gone in a heart beat!

Here is what I am for ret roch: I don't need you to speak for me!
I am not for illegals coming over our borders and mooching off of our system. The Bush track record on the illegal immigration problem has been horrible!

If you were so worried about the security of our country, why haven't you made it clear to Bush that there should not be any illegals running over the border? Don't you realize our national security is at stake?

We have the WORST deficit in years because of the Bush administration! Not only did he mislead us to get us into the war with Iraq, our grandchildren will be paying the bill for a long time.

Oh, and speaking of the war in Iraq, we are no better off then we were at the start of this mess in Iraq! Bush has turned this country into a hotbead for every terrorist in the Arab world to go to Iraq and blow our kids up! We have nothing but a civil war on our hands in this country. These people will never learn to get along. They have been slaughtering each other for years and we have accomplished nothing! I do not know why Bin Laden was accused of 9-11 and we went to war with Iraq? Makes no sense to me! Makes even less sense that our children are dying over there for no reason! When you create a war, and ask a kid to die.....you HAVE to have a legitimate reason! Where are your weapons of mass destruction in Iraq? Another deception to get us to go to war!

Why is it that we cannot afford to rebuild New Orleans but we can afford to rebuild Iraq? Why is it that Bush absolutely refuses to patrol our ports and borders?

And what do I hear about this North American Union thing that would totally do away with our Constitution and turn this country into a third world? This preliminary agreement with Canada and Mexico would desolve our borders and allow traffic to flow freely from Mexico to Canada! You can forget about stopping the flow of illegals then!

Look at yourself when you call anyone anti American. Looks like no one is more anti American than you! I am for our Constitution and preserving it, you are for letting this administration call the shots and desolve our country and Constitution!
Take the rafter out of your own eye, buddy! This President has shown time and time again that the well being of his own people and country means nothing to him!

I do not Dislike Bush, I just can't understand his ideals and Policies. Most Aussies Welcome our American Friends. Let us put it this way, We have fought too many Wars together to hate or dislike each other. A lot of our kin have died in these wars. We Dislike ONE Presidents view on the World. Bush is on the nose over here as well as in the States. In time the people will know the Truth. They will make the right decision when it counts.
Hey Cop, or whatever, Best you learn a little about the World before You start Preaching to the rest of the World. Your Stock Market is C++p having a look at it this Morning.

Hey Luis, Don't forget Australia. We are as guilty for voting in Howard for 10 years.

Well that's good to hear, there are a lot of people here who are anti Bush, but that shouldn't drive us apart. Australia is a good friend and I believe that they realize that we need to fight the terrorists and that shouldn't change no matter who's in office weather here or there. I loved the fact that you told the Muslims "if you don't like how we do things here, leave", you hit the nail on the head. But we do have a war to fight, and we need to fight it together, not just dump everything on the US like a lot of others seem to think is the right thing to do, because that decision is going to come back to haunt them in the long run.

Yes i agree with you, Bush is a bad leader and i dont support him or his international behaviour.
I reckon he invented Al Queda, and invented the Iraq war to drive Americas' economy. After failing he miight as well step aside and let a real leader have a go. Since there are so many decent US citizens its worth a go! Then again alot of people voted for Bush, so too did a lot of d!cks vote for Howard and all he has done is associate us closer to this American "president"

I think Wotzthepoint makes some very valid points but I do not feel anti American. As an Aussie I believe we have much in common and need each other. However it is a bit like having a friend who sometimes does things you do not like or agree with.

NOPE
We do need to have open debate in this society.

I do think when people start sounding like those who are going to kill us all it makes me wonder if the hate for Bush has gone too far.

When I go to Wisconsin and meet up with my liberal friends and we start talking about Bush.
We sit down have a few beers and we talk about it. We have a civil debate nothing like I see around here when people think that Bush did 9/11.

When people reduce their view of Bush to typical rants the debate is over and it just a screaming match at that point.

So I see no problem with people who don't like Bush to the point it doesn't become pathological and you mention his name and there is blood in their eyes.

We all need to take a chill pill and relax.

Good point Molly, as Australians we have a lot incommon with dare i say Americans. We should foster strong ties with the US ! Some like to be anti-American here, but really i prefer the ANZUS alliance to any. Howard has actually brought both countries closer, i would hate to see Labor here tear that alliance down. I have close mates in Iraq & Afghanistan and if need be we can call on "big brother" to help with Military hardware incase of an attempted Muslim incursion from Indonesia, even North Korea. We must support the US as "brothers in arms", remember WW2, England wont be coming to help !

Anti-Bush isn't anti-American.I agree with you there.Hugging the leader of a terrorist state(Nancy Pelosi),Damning the US from Venezuela,(Sean penn, and Danny Glover)Making statements such as "if the surge works, that could present a problem for the democrats(Harry Reid),Posting, and giving discounts for posting)full page ads calling a distinguished military man a "betrayer"(NYT and moveon)Wishing,or saying we deserved 9/11,and hoping the US is defeated(various ignorant pukes on here daily. These ARE Anti-American.These ARE treason, the maggots who make such statements aren't anti-Bush.They are traitors of America, and should be treated as such.A bullet in the head or a ride to the border.Dissent(not agreeing) with Bush is one thing, outright treason is another. There IS a line, too many people cross from dissent to treason, they aren't the same, and some actions aren't dissent, but treason

Molly, as long as you know the difference that's fine. And you are right, there is a big difference.

Unfortuanately, some people on both sides of the argument lose sight of the difference.

No, that doesn't mean in general the person is anti-American, but you are, Molly. You are absolutely obsessed with hating the USA and Americans. You try constantly to bring attention to yourself by posting your anti-American views. It's completely overboard with you.
