Either your monitor or your video card is going bad. Either one will not cost much to replace, if you're just looking for a low-end option. A monitor can be found at any discount store, pawn shop, or thrift store. A video card is fairly inexpensive at any retail store like WalMart or Target. I would replace the monitor first before the video card though.

As for Norton, your subscription has nothing to do with your monitor, so you're safe there. Even if you bought another computer your subscription will carry over.

your monitor is burning out...that will happen if you leave your system on every day all day and night...it's best to shut off the monitor at least, if you're not going to be sitting in front of it working...it's actually a good thing to shut completely down if nobody is going to be using a computer for more than an hour or more...it wastes electricity and doesn't accomplish anything by being left one...once you get a new monitor, everything should be ok...

try this and see if it works,on your monitor are there any
buttons on the front or on the side,if so one of them should
say auto/select or something similar to it,press it,what that
does is bring the monitor back to factory specs.good luck
hope this helps.

no electronic equiptment responds well to physical violence, try taking it to a computer shop to be repaired.
