The boxing day test is played in Melbourne and commences on 26 December (boxing day). It's a day of sitting on the couch, watching the cricket on the telly, drinking a few beers and eating left over ham/turkey. It's a great day (even better at the ground!)

All test matches starting on da 26th of december r generally referred 2 as da boxing day test match.. Does not only occur in ashes series. It is called boxing day due 2 some historical reason.. Got nothin 2do wid cricket
