Have you ever broken your arm? What's the story?

I was about 10 years old when I was playing tag with the kids on the corner house. The house had a lower and upper flat, and they had a back porch with metal railing on top and bottom porch. Well I was running up the porch and was going to jump the railing without grabbing anything, just throwing my foot on it and jumping. I slipped and went head first into the ground, using my arms to break my fall. Broke both arms like *THAT*. Broke both bones. The bones didn't make it through the skin, but I had to have plates and pins put into my left arm on both bones. (so scars on top and bottom of forearm). After healing, about a few months later I was messing around and broke my left arm AGAIN while my right arm was still in the cast (because of surgery, needs more time to heal). Had to have plates and pins and screws in that arm. Few years later I got plate removed from right arm, still had them in left arm and broke it AGAIN, right next to...

the plate in my left arm. Had to have plates and pins taken out and new ones put back in, rearranged and a giant pin going through my elbow in the middle of the bone to the wrist. I have numerous scars on my arms, elbow and wrist. I still have the plates and screws in my left arm. Even have scars from the staples put into my arms. Tell me a good story so I don't feel like I'm completely accident prone.

Well, ill just say i have enough injurys to out number all of you combined.
I had been in a serious motorcycle accident and was hosbitalized for months. It was my own fault. was being stupid and racing it and wrecked at 170mph and wrecked taking a turn with dirt on it, going through a barbedwire fence. thankfully, though it was 400ft worth, i was dragging in dirt tossing and flipping...

Currently, im walking ok, have to have a shoe lift on my right shoe to even out my walk, (about an inch and a half worth) and have some issues bringing my left arm up high. but thank goodness i had been wearing full gear. if i hadent been wearing a helmet, i doubt id be here. the fastest way of telling you the things i broke, would be to name the ones i didnt. :-P

(if you really want to know, heres the WORST ones ive aquired:
left shoulder, 2 spots = 3 pins, 1 bar, ball joint replacement, 1 plate.
left hip, 2 spots = 1 nail, 4 screws, 1 bar
right ankle, 6 spots = 6 screws, 2 plates
Tibia & Fibia = 2 breaks each = 1 bar 3 screws
3 ribs
right collar bone
multiple scatches and lacerations from barbwire.

I had counted the staples (66) and stitches (6) (though 3 layers worth so there were more under there) which i thought was kinda odd... (through my first set of surguries).. and totaled 72 staples after all the surguries) had some nice long zippers.

1 year later=
I cant run, but i can still ride my mountain bike on the sidewalks.. lol. i have issues going up hills and i cant stand up and pedal. cant bend right ankle past 90 degrees in but can fully extend. lots of popping in shoulder, hip, and ankle.
cant sit indian style. so besides those issues, im about as good as it gets... kinda cool to have some big scars though.. hehe. always a convo starter.

i had to make the best of it with the amount of time i was away from work (6 months), i started walking lightly by the 4th month, but i had enough time to plan a nice trip to thailand! which im about to take. hehe.

I was on the roof during a HOT summer day fixing the CB antenna and due to the heat I was drinking a lot of beer. Well, I got it fixed and since I had climbed up without a ladder, I thought I could lay on my belly on the roof and slide my legs over the edge and inch towards the edge of the roof slowly and easily until my legs would be about 4 or 5 feet above the ground then fall safely the rest of the way. WRONG!! That's not quite how it finished. I landed on my heels instead of my feet and fell over backwards onto my butt and both of my rearwardly extended arms. snapping my arms just above the wrists, breaking both of them at the same time. Did you know that it's impossible to "wipe your butt" after taking a dump when you have casts covering your arms from the palms to the elbows. This is when you find out if there is anybody who is REALLLY your friend. Hope this kinda makes your day.

i've got a few...

- dislocated my elbow when a baby
- broke the same elbow around age 5 - was sitting on the hand-bar of a kids trampoline, fell off and my elbow hit the metal bar around the edge - had to have it wired up! in a cast for months
- broke my wrist in a classic fall - hand goes out, so does bone...
- my brother kindly broke my finger by accident!
- fractured my shoulder roller-blading
- broke my ankle playing hockey
- broke a bone in my hand falling down the stairs
yep, i'm fairly accident-prone too!

man that really sucks, my story is a little similar.i was around 14 i think. i was climbing a tree.i was only about 8 to 10 feet high then a limb broke off the tree and i fell. i tried to catch myself with my right arm but all my weight went on my right arm and stapped it like a twig. i also broke both bones in my arms and had to have 2 plates and 15 screws in my arm.i still have them in my arm and can also feel them, feels weird
