How you say it. I have the problem that even when I'm trying to be nice and explain something to someone, I come off harsh or on the offensive. I don't get it. I leave things like this to my husband who has a way with words and knows how to firm but friendly. :)

For example, many people apologise without meaning it or say they love someone without being sincere or genuine.

both, if you have a an important message, you can ruin it by saying it wrongly.

As a manager, I have learned that it's all about how you say it.

"Go clean that mess up." Sounds a lot worse than, "Hey, can you do me a favor and clean that up for me?"
