Whoever is the captain of India will have enormous pressure placed on him by the Indian cricket public. Kumble would make a fine captain. As would Ganguly. As would several others.
Look at your current one day series. The knives were out after going two-nil down. Now it's 2-1 and all is forgiven for three days.
To gain victory one must accept defeat and learn from it. Any individual in the role of Captain must do that and must be allowed to do it in their own way. The most important match you'll ever play is the next one.
However, it seems to be a sub-continental thing that a lot of time is spent dwelling on the past and finding blame. Perhaps this is the many cultures and the complexity of the society, perhaps it's impatience with not quite being the great that they could be.
Personally I'd love to see them stick with a team and grow it to become a force. It gets very boring in summer in Australia these days. Please India come out here and serve a little curry - just for a bit of relief! (I'd like to see a close win to Australia of course - but a loss would be better than last year's ashes win)

If selectors decide to have seperate captains for test and ODI, Anil Kumble will be an ideal choice for test captaincy as he is very calm and non-controversial person.

probably dhoni or yuvraj. Kumble would have been a choice if he was of in hist twenty. He his nearing retirement from test as well. so no use of making him captain for a short time. ultimately the job going to handed over to dhoni or yuvraj.

Yes, I like him very much and he is very experienced to be Indian test team's captain and good news for u, that he has been selected as the Indian captain of the test team by BCCI.
1 week earlier it was on www.cricinfo.com. I am not telling a lie, believe me.

Anil is India's greatest match winner ever.
I think he himself is not intrested in captaincy.
Also i feel that there should be 'ONE' captain in both tests & one days. Since Anil has retired from one day cricket, therefore he should not be the captain.
