You need to go to teh companies house website at
www.companieshouse.gov.uk

This is where all UK company details are registered - registered office, directors, rules for the company (called memorandum and articles of association), latest accounts and annual returns etc, which will give you an idea of what type of business it is. All UK companies are legally obliged to register this info.
you can do a simple search for free or pay £1- £5 and get details of the directors, the type of business and all the legal documents whcih the company has to file under UK law. That should tell you all you need to know.

They seem to be the Debt Recovery arm of GE Capital Bank Limited, and are notorious for phoning at all times of the day and night in an attempt to recover debts .. typically after said debts have already been written off ...

As one poster puts it ..
"Link are debt buying parasites. The scour the dustbins of the financial services industry looking for tasty morsels. In reality they, like other debt buying parasites, will buy a parcel of accounts for a fraction of their nominal value. They won't be particularly concerned about the underlying paperwork. They will try to place the emphasis on their new "customers" to pay up or prove that the debt isn't owed."

NB> NEVER send a Cheque to a Debt Recovery Company, no matter WHAT they say about "letting you off" on the phone .. ALL they want is details of your bank Account (which they will get from the cheque) ..... ALWAYS insist of paperwork FIRST .. for example if they say "we will accept £50 in full payment of the £500 debt", you respond with "Send me that offer in writing & I'll send you the Payment".
