When my son began to crawl he began commando crawling dragging himself along by his arms. He did not start to walk until he was 14 to 15 months. Mmm what did I do? To start off with I held him under his arms in the standing position and gradually moved him along my pushing his feet one in front of the other with my own. If you doctor says nothing is wrong with him, he just might need a little exercise with his legs to build up strength. Maybe you could trying when he is laying on his back cycling his legs like he is riding a bicycle. After he get up a bit more strength then you can hold him by his hands in front of him and see if he takes a step. Eventually he will start taking hesitant steps not even knowing it. My son use to do it while watching TV and then fell over when he realised he was walking.
As I said if the Doctor says there is nothing wrong with he will walk in his own time. hope this helped

I think you're just confused about the milestones and when babies reach them. They're not supposed to walk at that age. My sons walked at 18 months and 16 months. The average is 13 months. Both of mine started to sit up at 10 months, quite late, but they were already crawling by this time. Many babies don't stand holding onto things at 10 months, although many are doing so by 8 months. Why the hurry?

I've got a 21 month old boy and he didn't bear any weight until about 15 months so i wouldn't worry about it, we were getting worried about his walking which he didn't do until he was 18 1/2 months old, we got told not to worry they will do it when there ready, I'll tell you to don't rush it as i can't sit him down now runs everywhere I'm always chasing him, but they will do it when ever they want to, don't worry yet 10 months is quite early

sure. because of the fact toddler protection is each and every ones business enterprise. at the beginning you should tell your wellness customer so as that she/he knows of the problem in the youngster's superb interest. yet you should continually ring Social centers and the HV would inform you to try this considering the fact which you are the only with the info/concern. you're able to try this anonymously albeit they'll ask on your call which you do not ought to provide. or in basic terms print out the above and hand it over the table on your nearby Social centers or deliver it by skill of positioned as much as the SW supervisor. Please do something for the childs sake.

My son (3.5) was 10lb 5oz at birth, He never used his legs, I wondered if everything was OK but never overly concerned, never compare your child to another and ignore those who do it to your child, My son when he was 18/19 mths when he decided to walk, and for a long long time had tyrouble bending his legs to get up stairs.
Now there is no stopping him.
Your son will walk, But only when he is ready don't force him as you could be doing more harm than good.

You say he's a "very big boy". Does this mean he is overweight? Because that could be the reason why he won't weight bear. His top half is too heavy for his legs to take the strain.

Leave him be, he will do it when he is ready. My daughter was 19 months old when she started to walk and didnt stand up until she was 14 months. If they start to walk or put weight on their legs to soon they can become bow legged.

He's only 10 months old, give him time.Don't wish his childhood away, take it from me,when he's a teenager you'll wish he was a baby again. This stage truly goes too fast and I can remember dying for my child to walk/talk etc. Most babies start to walk around 11 months to 15 months. If by then he's not walking it's worth speaking to your health visitor.
