I never know what colour lipstick to wear with my outfits. Are there any rules e.g. dark colours, dark lipstick, light colours, light lipstick??

Lipstick should complement your own coloring. Knowing your skin tone will help you determine which red lip color is best for you. Here's how to determine your skin tone:

Warm skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear green.
2. Gold jewelry is more flattering than silver jewelry.

Cool skin tone:
1. Look at inner wrist - veins will appear blue.
2. Silver jewelry is more flattering.

If you have warm skin, try brick reds, deep burgundy shades and deep berry colors.

If you have cool skin, try cherry reds, strawberry pinks or pale mauves.

Lipstick should add balance to the rest of your makeup & match the mood of your outfit.
e.g. an elegant red w/ a cocktail dress
a sheer, natural berry w/ a summer skirt & tee

Red goes with everything, no matter what your skin/hair colour is.

Trust meee.

I used to wear brown lipstick as a mini-teen (13-15 yrs) but then I stopped wearing it altogether cos it is soooo out.

Then just last week I wore red it looked sh!t hot.

Even my boyfriend thought it was a change...for the better.

I wear gothy kind of lacy clothes. Not all black, though. Some are kind of funky. I wear all sorts of colours. And red goes with everything I wear.

not so much about your outfit as the color you wake up with. Your eyes and cheeks will tell you.

If you feel peachy then make sure your lips are in the right color palet....which is orange

If you feel rosie then go for the reds.

Just don't mix peaches with pinks...it never EVER looks right.
For instance a peach blush and red lips..NOT

Don't forget though.... that sometimes, it is best to just use a lip pencil ( lightly applied over the whole lip ) and some great tasting lip gloss. It looks less contrived and gives your lips just the right amount of color.
