sounds like your stuck between a rock and a hard place. Honey just remember, you are married to him and not to her. She may never come around (hopefully she will), but if it comes down to it, you are gonna have to let her know that you are better for him than any other women(race aside) and he is your husband and she better learn to deal. No matter what dont ever back down cause if you do she will be on you forever.

There are a lot of bigoted people out there. You married him and not her so don't worry about her. She should want him to be happy and not worry if you are purple. She obviously does not want what is best for him. Make sure that when you have children that she does not treat them badly because of this. A lot of people will also do this. The children get the raw end of the deal with people like this. And yes there are people out there that will do this to their own grandchildren. Best of luck to you.

It sounds like she's narrow minded. Maybe if she gets to know you as a kind person she will learn to accept you, but never let her walk all over you. Try to be nice to her a few times, and if that doesn't work, just don't deal with her anymore. Your husband married YOU, and YOU are the one he has chosen to share his life with, not his mother.
A lot of mother in laws out there are mean for one reason or another. Don't let her get to you!

You have no problem understanding for husband than you should not have difficult to understand you mother in law too. Show your caring and love on her always. One day she will understand you.

Your marriage is your existence, your decision. no longer to be caused by utilizing some self-based, boastful mom-in-regulation. you should inform your husband that, if he might want to be suffering from her.

It is probably the way she was raised.
It could also be that no one is good enough for her little boy and she is using the race card to explain why your not the on for her son.

Well, it's a wonderful thing that she isn't the one who has to be his wife. She sounds like a boorish, combative and closeminded person. She would probably not like anyone he chose to marry, even if she chose her for him, herself. You just keep on being tolerant and polite. What she's doing is considered bad form.

poor woman is still stuck in another era. there are many mixed races couples these days. dont force the issue. maybe one day she will be able to look at you and look past race and see you as a person.

She might need time to get to know you, your family, your culture and your beliefs. If you and her son are happy then I am sure she will soon learn to accept you with open arms.

Could be she thinks birds of feather should stick together, give her time to adjust, if she sees you make her son happy, she will be happy for him.
