reminds me of columbus circle in the southwestern most part of central park in new york. the place where you take the carriage ride, peddlers abound and of course the trump tower.

Of course it can not be a holiday in the Philippines. Well, Friday is a holiday here - - end of Ramadan? The president has, since a couple of years back, been declaring this as holiday in honor of the Filipino Muslims.

It's a holiday here in California. But self-declared holidays are more enjoyable, don't you think so. Enjoy your shopping, take care!

Lucky girl. I'd love to have a holiday. Sunday is my one day off every week and I even had work to do yesterday. I don't get 2 consecutive days until Thanksgiving.

It should be because Columbus' dicoveries in the Americas eventually led to the discovery of the Philippines by Magellan. eheheh. Incidentally, the oldest street in the Philippines - Colon St. in Cebu City - is named after him. This should give us reason enough to delcare it a holiday. ahahaha

If columbus day was on a day that I had work, then no I would not get it off. But this year it falls on a day that I allready have off, so I guess it will be like a holiday.

Nope. It's just another day for me. Here in the Philippines, we don't celebrate that. We do however honor the day Magellan arrived here. It was our first encounter with the Europeans.
