Definitely not! 2 decades ago children behaved and were taught moral values and respect for their elders. Since the government decided to remove religion from the classrooms, condoned atheist beleifs based upon fairness, butted into the families home lives and taught children all they have to do is cry wolf to a school conselor it has become a very difficult and chaotic job for parents remain in control of their children, especially once they hit their teen years. That is not even including the fact that 20 years ago a household could make it on one income, so there was usually one stay at home parent. Unless you make 100 gs a year, which most don't, parents can't make it on one income, which means their children are at the mercy of someone else most of the time. I feel sorry for anyone who has a child in future generations, because the problems parents face today will only worsen with time.

Good question, I have pondered this one at least a few times. I have always came to the conclusion that the answer is no.

It's simple, just take a look at movies in general produced from both time frames. Observe how families reacted in the 80's to one another. Now watch a family environment in a recent movie.

Totally different.

Observe the background environment in each also. Something as simple as a family at a gastation in each movie and you will see life is simpler in the past.

I love to abserve details like this.

If you seriously check out my theory, leave Disney movies out of the equation, they are unrealistic.

Try watching "Vacation" from 1983 and then immediately watch something like "Liar Liar" from 1997.

Both are family Comedies.
One is focused on a family as a group trying to have a good vacation.

The other is focused on a family near the brink of breaking up due to the stresses of the fathers world.

I also blame Hip Hop music for all evils in the world. Thats stuff started in the 80's and 90's and is so old and played out that it's still around?!?!?

I think it is. Divorce may have been less common but it was because people were more likely to stay together for the sake of the children. I don't know anybody who appreciated having their parents do that for their sake. They got sick of the fighting, the appearances, separate lives, and being made to act as go-betweens for parents who weren't speaking to each other. Also, there were many women who wanted to leave but couldn't because they knew the consequences were much worse for them if they didn't try to stick it out in a loveless marriage.
