The Sun is ALWAYS lined up with the centre of the galaxy. They are two points and so are always in a line.
The effect on the Earth of a planetary alignment - Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars Jupiter etc is only slightly greater than that of the Moon and the Sun being in line with the Earth. It is like adding a handful of sand to a truckload. Full planetary alignments are rare but rough alignments of the planets inward from Jupiter and including it are fairly common.
Most of that effect comes from Venus, that planet is roughly in line with the Sun , Moon and Earth about 3 times every 5 or 6 years. The effect of Venus on the Earth is a tiny fraction of that of the Moon.
It would take very sensitive instruments to measure the effect of Venus on the Earth but it has been done.
There is no wild planet "X" or Nibiru floating about. It was supposed to affect us in 2003 but didn't - because it did not exist. The publicity seekers and woo-woos who promoted this garbage then tacked the idea onto a lot of tripe about the Mayan calendar, whose "ending" in 2012 is an artifact of their counting system.
The best answer to this was given a few weeks ago. "That is when the Mayans return in their UFO to tell us the truth about the Moon landings."

think about that for a second... "the sun lines up with the center of the milky way." Well the milky way does have a center, and the sun does orbit around that center, but how do you know when it's lined up with the center? the answer is always, because you can always draw a line from the center of the milky way to the sun. Now if you mean that the Earth is lined up with the sun and the milky way, well that would be either once a year or it will never happen, depending on the orientation of the Earth's orbit with the plane of the stars' orbits around the milky way. Since I don't know if they lie on the same plane, I can't answer that question, but I'm sure that information is available somewhere.
Additionally, the Mayan calander is based on a mathematical system of cycles, and the final cycle ends in dec 2012. I've never heard anything about an actual prediction of the end of the world, just the end of their calender. I've heard rumors though, but this is the first time I've heard about the "sun lining up with the center of the milky way," which doesn't make any sense anyway.

you're asking 2 countless issues. The Earth, solar and centre of the Milky way can by no potential line up, because of the fact the centre of the Milky way lies 6.5 ranges under the Earth's orbit. the line transforming into to be a member of the Earth and solar does go the aircraft of the Milky way, yet that occurs two times each and every 365 days, and has for many hundreds of years. ven so, the aircraft of the Milky way is arbitrarily defined based on the distribution of stars interior the sky: it somewhat is a statistical familiar, not a actual merchandise in area. Gravitational charm relies upon on distance. The solar is 8 gentle minutes faraway from Earth, yet has an particularly minor gravitational result on earth while in comparison with that of the Moon, this is plenty smaller yet very close. The black hollow on the centre of the Milky way is eighteen,000 gentle years away, and has a thoroughly unmeasurable gravitational bring about the worldwide.

Since the Sun (along with every other star in the Milky Way Galaxy) orbits around the center of the MIlky Way, it's --always-- lined up with the center.

Any two points determine a line. So the sun ALWAYS is lined up with the center of the Milky Galaxy.

The phrase "sun lines up with the centre of Milky way" has absolutely no meaning in scientific terms, so your whole question is meaningless.

No, No, NO AND NO....
For all intents and purposes, our sun, Sol is always aligned with the centre of the Milky way galaxy - We are on a planet, Earth, that just happens to be in the solar system that orbits Sol and so therefore we are aligned to it. Sol orbits the centre of the Milky Way galaxy, just like all the other billions of stars within it.
PLEASE, CAN THIS RUBBISH STOP?
(this is only going to get worse isn't it?)

the mayans didnt fricken know there was a galaxy or a center. they just said 2012 was gonna be the start of their new calendar, not the end of the world. think about it. if you pick 2 points theyre always lined up. you can always draw a line between any 2 points. so the sun is always lined up with the center of the galaxy its nothing special.

You will have gathered by now that this is all total shite.
I would like to add to this by saying that even those that were predicting this alignment stated that it "should have occurred" by now and have recognised that the time for the (non) event has already passed. They are now talking about an arbitrary "window" of around 60-odd years when the "events" could occur - which will no doubt get stretched further when nothing happens again.
