I believe that freedom and justice for all says it all.

So there are many causes and issues that I care about that are related.. I am basically interested in human rights and social justice and ecology and environmental protection. But you probably can say the same :)

mmmm...but I have to say that I have not Done much so far. I volunteer at an animal shelter and foster new kittens untill they are old enough to be weaned and be adopted. I volunteered for e-waste collections and computer recycling and reuse. I want to do more..

How about you? What causes and issues are you interested in and are close to you? What are you involved in? :)

I'm not a feminist but I do care about causes, due to circumstances beyond my control I haven't been able to do anything lately but I use to work with Ameri-corps, volunteer in the schools as a tutor for children who were failing and I've volunteered at animal shelters.

I've also worked for children's shelters, Child abuse prevention center and rape crisis center but that all was related to requirements for my major at the time---granted I was thrilled to be able to help in those areas.

Hi Miss Sigy lol,

It's always nice to see you on here. To answer your question, I feel passionately about kids and I'm hoping to financially be in a place where I can take care of kids who have ended up in the system with no parents, to bring them home and raise them. I also care greatly about encouraging active involvement of both parents in children's lives...I'm not sure what I can do to make a difference though. I used to volunteer at a domestic violence shelter but I've been working more overtime since buying my house so I've kinda put that on hold which I feel guilty about.

I feel that I need to do more, but I'm lazy and feel so exhausted mentally :(

I have taken teens into my home (to live with me) who have a variety of issues: drug addiction, abuse victims, some with mental health problems, homelessness, and in two cases pregnant and homeless. I could list all the things I do to try to help them, but it's enough to say that probably what they value most is having someone really care about them. I also volunteer my time at a teen homeless shelter. I help kids with finding resources (for medical or dental care, pre-natal care, food, education, job-finding skills, etc.) I am in college right now, as well, getting a degree in psychology and addictions counseling because I want to reach out to more people. I've been through a lot of the same kinds of issues as the kids I work with, and I feel I have the skills and the compassion that are needed to help them heal, to help them learn to enjoy life again. It brings me the greatest satisfaction (an indescribable feeling, really-) to know I'm helping to ease someone else's pain. I feel it's my "calling"- my purpose for being.

I support research for breast cancer by walking in sponsored marathons. I would like to see an end to childhood leukemia and I volunteer at a local Children's hospital entertaining sick kids to help bring their minds off the pain. I do a little "something something" to help the police take down drug dealers in my city.
