I have Windows XP and I want to do a partition in my hard drive. How to do it?

It depends on what type of hard drive you have there. If it's FAT32 format, then you can obtain a boot-up disk from win ME or XP system, and start your PC with that disk inserted. Run fdisk.exe in DOS mode, then follow the instruction. The easiest way to partition your hard drive I think is to download a software called "partition magic 8.5v". Have it installed in your hard drive. It has a nice window that shows you how to partition your hard drive and there is a bar down the bottom that allows you to drag and see how big you want the partition to be. Once you done partition, just click the CHECK mark on top, it is that simple.

If you don't know how to do it, then I'm sure you don't know why partitions are created or what problems you will cause on your computer. Partitioning should be done by competent technicians and for good reason, and a working computer is not one of them.

go to user panel and sperate them....then there is a little wizard widow that comes up that will walk u through it ok gl hf email if u got more ?s

right click on my computer
click manage and it will bring up a menu
click on fragment/defragment hard drive
and it will start up the wizard

Type "C:\fdisk" then it will show you the other option.
