There are many kinds of Dung Beetles, each specializing in specific animals. The one mostly seen on TV specializes in only Elephant Dung. The beetle is responsible for major composting and recycling on the Savannah, which allows for rich new growth of grasses. Just like us going out spreading lime, fertilizer and waiting for rain.

I don't think so. Their feces are very small, probably around the size of large grains of sand. They'd much rather roll around a nice big elephant dropping.
