When did people become so thirsty?

25 years ago cars didn't even come with cup holders.
Now people can't seem to sit through class, or walk a few blocks, without a bottle of water, or a Starbucks in thier hand.

What happened that people can't go a little while without a drink?

I agree with starcharlieblue. It's all about people just being spoiled and can't wait five minutes. Wasn't there a time when drinks weren't allowed at the drink station or in the classroom and we all had to go to the water cooler or drinking fountain?

it's probably due to an increase in high sodium foods and just the convenience of being able to have a drink whenever you want, it's the same reason why fast food has become so big, instead of waiting to get home to eat you think "oh hey I can just stop here" it's all of the conveniences and luxuries that weren't around years ago

I know my mom was told not to drink anything until she finished her food. Now, people drink whenever they feel like it and with fast food places and stores everywhere it makes it easier to get.

I geusse because they're so used to drinking sodas everywhere they go, not necissearaly cause theyre thirsty! (habitual soda drinking!)

It's really the need for instant gratification. The need for that has been increasing for years!

well we eat food with more salt in it and that stimulates the thirst center in the hypothalamus, yeah, that's it
