Wisconsin went to Kerry, but it's more of a purple state. It can go either way depending on who last farted.

Thanks, George. My mother is dead. I wonder if you can be any more rude. I only asked a question.

I don't know.
But I do know that Americans are suffering with obesity because all of the cheaper foods that many people have no other option than to buy are over-processed foods that will make you fat.
Think about it, how many American families buy things like potatoes, rice, macaroni and cheese, chips.......fast easy cheap foods that are filling and bad for you?
It is incredibly expensive to buy fresh fruits and vegetables that we should be eating more of.
And then of course with the time crunch most people face on a daily basis there is entirely too much fast food consumption.
It's a real problem and we need serious discussion to address a national health crisis.

No particular group is "lazy." Why can't we agree that a lot of Americans are lazy? Not ALL Democrats are lazy, and not ALL Republicans are lazy. This is just yet another example of all of the divide in this country... Plus, not everyone from a "Red State" is going to be Republican and not everyone from a "Blue State" will be Democrat.

I'm 5'10" 225 and am an Independent Conservative from Ca., which by the way is Blue by cities and Red by counties. How do you think Arnie got elected twice. I'm sure there are no overweight people in Blue States, except for Ted Kennedy.

Not surprising. Most Republicons I know are grossly obese and complain loudly about Democrats while chewing a Big Mac with mouths open...

Obese Americans are just as American as any other American is. And just as normal. To think of them any other way indicates a somewhat condescending bias.

Totally untrue! In fact, blacks are the highest per capita obese population in the US, and we all know that 90% of blacks vote democrat!
Damn near the entire US, regardless of political views, is obese!

What I have found is that people are fat no matter where you go. The younger they are the fatter they are. I doubt very much that it has anything to do with the demographics of political views.

Is Wisconsin a red state?
I don't think obesity is a liberal or conservative issue. I think it's a U.S. issue.

Let me guess there's a poll that shows these statistics. Guess they went to every clinic in the redstates and checked everyone's BMI. I highly doubt it and you should too.

I don't understand why some people have to make EVERYTHING a red/blue issue.
Obesity is a national problems and is color blind.
