Well the best excuse I have ever heard was by a Tech who called in and said he was dead. Later at another time the same tech called in and told the station Tech that there was only 13 duck billed platypus in the world and one of them just crashed landed in his front yard and that he would not be in because he had to take it to the vet. As for myself I just ended up being so hung over I ended up calling in late and then sick on a day that I had Vacation.

Well mine was hilarious, but it was true. I got locked out of my house and my boyfriend couldn't hear me banging on the door cuz he was sleeping, and I ended up being locked outside of my house all night with no money or shoes or car keys. It was one of the most miserable and long times of my life, and my boss thought I was stupid.
Also, I said my house flooded, as a matter of fact it actually did, but no where near what I portrayed it to be.

I called in drunk once. I was out at a bar way too late drinking WAY too much. As a liquor truck driver, I decided that it was not a good idea to go to work still drunk.
The following day, when I went in, my boss was laughing about it. He was glad that I had the good sense not to come in.

I locked my keys in the house. (I live 30 miles from work). Not true of course.

i dont know if its funny, but i had my boyfriends mom call into denny's and tell them that i couldnt come in cuz i was having a mental breakdown... i wasnt, and i quit 2 days later.. i hated that job!
