i have a lot of cop friends, and some cop family memebers. every so often we hear about a cop doing something like this. these things really bother me because one of my friends or family can respond to a situation like this and lose their life because of a kid has a badge and a gun. this cop was 20 a kid still. why was he in the position of authority when he still had milk behind his ears? its a shame that this kid shot those kids. its more of a shame that this kid was blue. the big question now is why was he blue when he should have been something else. i know every cop is different and every cop that happens to be a kid is on a different maturity level. i do not know the particulars other than what was in the news. but i do know a kid in a position if authority shot seven kids killing six. and that should never have happened!!!

ok muggy that brings up a good point. the officesr i know make decent money. theirs is a high stress job and violence wether domestic or otherwise has been a problem, hidden as it is a lot, for many decades. why was he a part time cop for the city. i know the answer i am going to get is to make money.

i agree gaspode, in some cases there does seem to be a blue shield protecting cops, at least from the media. this guy and any other bad cops needs to be in the same situation that anyone else would find themselves in. the school shootings in the past is a good analogy. if this cop did it at a school there would be hell to pay. not just a sound bite. hell oj's "high speed" chase got more attention and he killed only two adults. and his face was altered, by one of the national news magazines, to make him look more menacing and its still in the news from time to time 12 years later.
