I have mixed thoughts about this, on the one hand I'd be flattered that someone thought my design was good enough to use, but on the other if I'd told this person that I designed it only for me and they went ahead and used it without permission then I'd be narked to say the least. I'd also be a little freaked over the wanting matching tattoos thing. In your case I'd be very worried that they were able to access your room and had been snooping through your belongings - what else of yours have they taken? was this the first time they've taken something from some? If he used the same tattoo shop I'd take your design back to them, explain that it has been stolen and is being used without your permission and your copyright infringed - that you request they refuse further tattoos using it as you are enforcing your interlectual property rights. I have one design which I based on someone elses because I liked the basic overall shape (it's a sun) but my actual tattoo is unique to me - then again there is only a finite number of things you can do with a sun.

It's just them being obsessivly stupid.
People nowadays don't know how to be original, and if they do they're too scared to show it.
I would never want a copycat tatoo because have you seen how celebrity crash?
Like say Britney Spears gets a tatoo of a purple wig on her butt & then you just go out and get one too.
then you stop listening to her and regret the tatoo and then you see her 2 years later with her head shaven.
Smart idea,person.
XDD!
Yeah well that's my opinion on this whole thing.

I don't know.. mine definately isn't like that.. For my first tattoo I brought in a painting I did when I was younger.. (and fascinated by petroglyphs).. a 4.5 inch stick figure type petroglyph on my forearm.. (in an ochre red color) with a waning moon crescent instead of eyes.. very few people get it.. although a few guessed that it was inspired partly by the early petroglyph's..
.. I reacted to the red ink, so now it looks like I carved it into my arm.. or on really bad days branded it.. but, I can honestly say, even if someone were to copy my design.. mine is an original..
I've been inspired by movies occaisionally.. and there are a few tattoo's I'd like to get that are from them.. but not one's on the actors.. one example is the key from the movie mirrormask.. another one is the cave painting on vivien's wall in the movie Mists of Avalon.. .. they tend to be fleeting images that last seconds in the movie that just stick in my head.. I don't know.. I've never wanted to copy anyone.. doesn't seem that interesting.

Hello, well I personally don't like people who copycat, especially tattoos, since its so permanent. I myself have a tattoo that i drew myself and I am thinking of getting another one that i will have to draw later. Its funny, i went to the gym yesterday and saw 2 people have the same superman logo tattooed on them. I can't really answer your question, but I think that peope want to be hip and be part of the crowd. Nice question though :D

I got a friend who used to want to get a set of wings tattooed on her back - it was going to be her own design, but then Kelly Osborne got a set of wings so my friend vowed to never get wings just because of that.
But I agree - get something that means something special to you, because its something you have to live with for the rest of your life, and you might not be a fan of that celeb for the rest of ya life.

People are growing more and more unoriginal each day. Just look at all of the Hollywood remakes of older movies.

You have to realize that people tend to follow trends and have trouble thinking for themselves.

I guess they think that it is a form of flattery, maybe?
I am glad that your life is so happy that it is just little things like this that upset you! What is your secret?
