I have been called twice, the first time I had non-refundable tickets to Washington State and they excused me.
The second time I wanted to serve on a jury for a cocaine possession case with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school. The defense attorney knew I was a cop and BAM! I was off the jury selection in about 3 seconds flat.
I really would have been as impartial as humanly possible, I know cops are human and can make mistakes.. but I was outta there.

I was summoned to jury duty about 10 years ago. I had to sit through a long drawn out process and I wasn't called at the end of the session. I had to get excused after that as I am a single parent and sole bread winner in the home.

I was on jury duty a little over a year ago, and it lasted about two or three weeks.

I really try not to serve... I do NOT believe in the adversarial system of justice (which does not search for the truth, but for the most expensive lawyer's arguments)... I refuse to swear on a bible (Where is the separation of church and state???)... I give them a hard time when I am called...

I've been called up twice, but never had to serve. On the last one I had to recuse myself because I didn't feel I could render an impartial verdict.
