Great q. To wonder about the pain of death, the pleasure of sex, and the pointlessness of wondering about them in the first place is a rather "romantic" activity, isn't it? I think most of us (in different ways) find this thing you're calling "idealism" to be as necessary as sex and death.
But you asked the kind of question that is much more fun to discuss in dialog, and not as a simple one-time q. and a.--especially because it'd be nice to explain our terms over the course of the discussion . . .

Don't forget that the individual has the absolute freedom to choose whether life is Absurd and only Materialistic or Perfectly ordered by a higher power. As we can all, many wish to negate Absurdism in the world and bring order. Well, thats their choice.

Here goes:
The only entity we can give definite ontological status is our own consciousness. Everything else is experienced only as represented in our consciousness. So, what exactly do you mean by "material"?
Death is cessation, so nothing ever actually experiences it (the process might suck, though). Are hedonism and romanticism our only choices? What of development of that very consciousness I started out talking about?

Because people w. a job they love are infinitely more happy than any lottery winner. People w. a spouse they love are infinitely more happy than those who marry for money. And why not just end it all?.. You'll see when you have a little you to help you re-discover the really special things and ideas/art/knowledge that make money/materials merely a means to an end, not an end.

Well.... Trying to attiain idealism can lead to true, lasting happiness. sex, materialism, etc, are all fleeting. The happiness goes away almost instantly after we buy something new, have sex, etc. But, striving for goodness brings more and more happiness... the kind which is not fleeting.

Life has improved in many ways thanks to Science .
idealism gives us goals not just material but ethically/morally.
This does not deny existentialism or any other possible ism's.
but opens up the door to free thought in correlation for a better perspective and understanding their possible role and use .
