it's kinda easy.
eg: 2 : 3 = 2 / 3
just like that.

A ratio of 2:3 = 2/3
However, the way it is used in a mixture is a little different.
Two parts of something and three parts of something equal a total of five parts.
If we wanted to divide 140 pounds of of nuts at a ratio of 2:3, we would add all the parts of the ratio. In this example, 2 + 3 = 5. So, we have 5 parts.
140 pounds / 5 = 28 pounds
2(28 pounds) = 56 (2/5 of 140 = 56)
3(28 pounds = 84) (3/5 of 140 = 84)
84 pounds + 56 pounds = 140 pounds
56/84 = 2/3
Always add the parts of the ratio:
1:3:5:7 = 16 parts So, we would divide the total by 16, and calculate the portions the way I did in the first example, or take 1/16, 3/16, 5/16, and 7/16 of the total.
I hope this helps.

It is very basic. If you have, let's say 2:3.Then the fractional form is 2/3. Remember that the numerator is the number on the left side of the ratio and the denominator is the right side of the ratio.
More Examples:
10:6=10/6
100:1=100/1

Think of a ratio as a division problem the same way a fraction is.
For instance: 2: 1 is the same as 2/1

9:27 = 9/27 ÷ 9 ( your best option common divisor ) divide the numerator and denominator by skill of 9 = one million/3 12:8 = 12/8 ÷ 4 = 3/2 <~~~unsuitable fraction. *replace that to suitable fraction* = 2/2 and one million/2 = one million one million/2 6:9 = 6/9 ÷ 3 = 2/3 36:40 8 = 36/40 8 ÷ 12 = 3/4 sixteen:12 = sixteen/12 ÷ 4 = 4/3 = one million one million/3
