I've known people to use it as a remedy to bring down fever. It's supposed to pull the fever down to your feet and take it out of your head. It's worth a try but for colds I think it works best rubbing it on the chest.

No, not on your feet. I actually thought your question was going to ask if that would make your feet soft. :P

You're supposed to put the vicks vapor rub on your chest and breathe the vapors.

Just don't roll over onto your stomach.

Well if you have a cold you put it on your chest. But it works really well also for dry cracked feet, if you do use sock with it. Your feet will be like butter.

I always put the Vicks on my chest and it does help me breathe better. Never heard of it on one's feet!

The only thing I know it does, is that it makes the skin on your feet softer.

You can use some on your chest to help ease any difficult breating associated with a cold.

Well seeing that the vapors produced by the medicine are what alleviates the symptoms, and there is no way to breathe from your feet, I would assume someone is trying to pull your chain and get your socks messy.

I have never done that but I have put it on my chest and on my kids and it seems to be of help there.
Peace.

I don't think putting it on your feet does anything but kill foot fungus. However, it helps my son to have the children's variety on his chest when he has a chest cold.
