Fiona Apple - she had a minor hit with "criminal" but everyone forgot about her, she's HIGHLY underrated imo...also:
lisa loeb - she had a minor hit with "stay (I miss you)" although it's her best song she has others that are good too....
(Chronon - the term one hit wonder can be used in various ways musically - it can be a "one note" artist for example, an artist who only had one or two songs make it as hits on the charts before they were discarded by the public, like the two examples I gave, OR it can mean one hot song and the artist disappears after the song is no longer "hot." Anyway.....)

Fiona Apple and Barenaked Ladies aren't one hit wonders. I'd say a one hit wonder is where everybody knows the song but doesn't give a crap about the artist. Both of those artists are pretty popular.

There are a lot of artists who were one-hit wonders in the US but very successful elsewhere. Examples include Big Country, A-ha, and Status Quo.

I hear the Barenaked Ladies were a one hit wonder in the US, but in Canada we appreciate many of their songs. I guess their "One Week" came out way after the songs I remember, and since they weren't new, nobody paid much attention to them after One Week. But they were so clever and fun!

Marcy Playground. "Sex And Candy" was a good song, and they've got tons more that no one seems to know about.
