Jerusalem crickets, sometimes called potato bugs, burrow underground. When one emerges from the ground, it looks rather like a baby being born from the dirt, hence the nickname "earth baby" or "hija de la tierra." It doesn't look like a human really though, and its abdomen is striped kind of like a bee's, and they can get to be 2 inches long, so they are eerie and impressive. Some people believe they are deadly poison. This is not true, though a big one can give a somewhat painful pinch. But they don't scream or make any significant noise. It's usually the people who scream and grimace at the sight of this terrifying creature.
They are generally considered neutral in the garden or farm; they eat roots, but they also eat other insects, so the harm they do is balanced by the good they do.

there is one that kinda fits that bill. In New Mexico its called a "Child of the Earth" . Better known as a Jerusalem Cricket. I have seen one and it gave me the ever-lovin' creeps as it reminded me of an episode of the twilight zone. It only looked kinda human to me and I didn't kill it so as to whether they scream I can't say

The luna moth has an appearance like a ghostly face upon its' back. Sort of looks like "the silent scream", but no, it does not scream when killed.

I've never heard of such a thing in real life, but I love Howard H's answer.
Oh wait, I just remembered...In the original version of "The Fly" (not the one with Jeff Goldblum, the older one), there was the fly that ended up with the scientist's head. "Helllp meeeeee! Hellllp meeeeeee!"
