My monitor keeps popping up with a box saying "Auto Adjustment" and the screen shakes while the % bar counts up to 100%. It does this ALL THE TIME.....over and over and over! It's driving me insane!! I've gone through my monitor settings and the "Auto" function button is not stuck or anything. My monitor is a flat screen Samsung SyncMaster 720N, and I haven't even had it for a year yet. I got it last Christmas. Had anyone else had this problem? What is wrong? How can I fix it?!

Auto adjustment is when the monitor looks at the signal and tries to optimise it's sampling to get the clearest picture.

I could understand this if you were changing resolutions frequently, going into and out of games, etc. But is should not do this if you are just sat at the desktop.

If it has just started doing this then it may be that the 'auto setup' button on the monitor is defective, check your warranty period and give Samsung a call.

Before doing anything drastic, why don't you try contacting Samsung? Either call them or email them through their website. I had a similar problem with my Hanns G monitor and 1 phone call to them solved it. They talked me through changing some settings and it was fixed. You could also check the FAQs on their site, assuming they have a tech support link on their site.

OK check this out first go to your option butting which might be numbers an yes even shapes there at the bottom of the monitor go to colour adjust then pick 93k or 65k or 54k or you can go to user colour and make your own adjustments on your colour and that should your comp from trying to make its own adjustments]creeper442

the internal hardware reader that controls your display refresh rate has been corrupted/damaged somehow, possibly by static discharge, you may have to replace the monitor, i hope you have a warranty, if not, you may need to send it to the manufacturer for repairs.

there is no easy fix for a problem like the one you have explained.
