The I-A Division of the NCAA only includes the "power" conferences into the current BCS system. Why don't they just cut back the I-A to the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, Pacific 10 and SEC? If every team on the I-A level is not going to have an equal chance for the national championship just because of their schedule and conference they are in it is unfair. It would be the same as if in the NFL any team from the NFC West wasn't allowed to go to the playoffs because it's seen as a weaker division.

No, D1-A should not be trimmed down to the BCS conferences. The BCS needs to be scrapped in favor of some thing that would provide equal opportunity to the mid majors. I say starting January 1, there should be a four week playoff including the 11 conference champs and 5 at large bids. The four BCS Bowl games (Fiesta, Rose, Sugar and Orange) as well as three more high level games, maybe Cotton, Gator and whatever they call the Citrus Bowl now, should rotate out hosting final, semi-final and quarter-final games, and leave the other 92 or however many Bowl games intact for the also-rans who get to play post-season football anyway, even though they have no chance at a title.

Everybody has this thought that their conference is the toughest. Truth is. the SEC is the toughest, hardest-hitting, fastest overall conference in college football. But the only way to truly judge this is to look at Bowl games against other conferences. Thsi is supposed to be the best that each conference has to offer. And if the SEC wasn't the best, how do they send the most teams year after year. Every year the SEC pounds on these other conferences in Bowl games. And it looks like the same will happen this year.

This is what should happen. They should just take the C out of BSC and call it a day....
Until there is playoffs in Div1A football, there is always going to be the "what if" factor.
