I don't know, there are a LOT of weirdos out there. If I wanted someone to know about me, I would tell them. I like your screen name ~ Don't taze me either!

I had no problem with others viewing my Q&A, until one "gentleman" decide to make me his personal posterchild for all that is wrong with the world....he would go through my answers...some a year or more old, and email me to each and every "answer" he had a problem with....and I just got tired of his rants...
Yahoo allows this option, and I exercised my right to use it...I could make my Q&A private or disengage my email...I chose the former.

I have only blocked a couple...because they were just...complete jerks, possessing NO redeeming quality...and I always try to block people who are that negative from my life.

I didn't know that you could keep your questions from being answered by anyone who sees them. Now, as far as "seeing them"--I keep mine "under wraps" because some fool used to look up MY questions, and ONLY my questions, and then answer them with personal slurs about things he read in my profile, and with crude, obscene language. I do not like to "report", unless it IS for obscenity, so I decided to keep my questions and network "hidden".

Also, I do not "favor" my network with "Best Answers" or even answers at all. If they ask something that interests me, I answer. If not, I ignore it. I'm only on here about an hour or two a day, and I don't usually look up the questions or answers of any of my "network" if I missed them during the day. There's plenty here for everyone--all the time!

Oh, and I DO care about the "truth", but am still looking for someone who can "handle it"....LOL

Hahaha! You've been here a month. Hang around. There are individuals who take this site extremely seriously and spend many hours going through old q & a and reporting stuff...

I don't go private or block (except for seriously obnoxious Liberals and users I know are reporting trolls), but I've spent too much time responding to Yahoo over stupid violation notices.

I used to leave mine open all the time. When I started getting multiple violations for little things I realized I had to protect my account. I've had this name on yahoo for many years.
I have it open right now, hoping that YA really has done something about the illegal abuse of reports. They even admitted it was happening. But I want to keep my ID so I'm very cautious. Many on YA can't act like adults.

I closed mine because of being targeted; like many others, I had someone reporting me on answers I gave MONTHS ago. It's silly, but some people definitely take YA far too seriously.

I would have to agree with "Time " above. One conspiracy theorist went back months on my Q&A's and filed complaints from each of her many accounts. I received more than 30 in four days. Up to that point I had my Q&A's open. It's too bad. They are the one's who can't take the truth.

No, it is true of people who totally block anyone from answering who doesn't agree with them, like the one with the dittohead question. Other people who put their questions and answers in private networks don't like being targeted for violations.

Nothing will be learned but as for the block option that is more if a user abuses you in some way.

I love it when I get blocked by a "truther", you know, the conpsiracy guessers. I had three block me in one week after their usual "How can airplane gas melt steel" to which I calmly explained that the steel didn't melt, but it was severly weak due to the fire. Guess they didn't want to know the actual truth. :-)
