I think any team can win the best of 5 even if there not the better team.
I am a SOX fan but would like to see the ALDS go to 7 games.
The Sox would have won anyways..
Just hate the system.

Yes, certainly. The LCS used to be 5 games and it was alway unsatifying. Now, with the wild card, it is even more important that that first step in the playoffs be 7 games because the wild card has an unfair advantage to advance with a 5 game spurt. If the serieses can't all be 7 games, the LCS should go back to 5. The serieses should all be 7 games, though.

Only once has a team come from behind from an 0-3 deficit in the Championship series. That being Boston beating the Yankees in 2004. So to think that the Cubs, Phillies and Angels would have had a more competitive chance with a 7 games series is crazy. For the first round a best of 5 is fine.

The only advantage of making the division series a best of 7 instead of 5 is you will be be watch one or two more games.

BTW, the 4 division idea is stupid. If you do that in the AL you'll have a division with only three teams. That only increases the chance of sub .500 teams getting into the playoffs and leaving out the next best.

I agree with part of what you're saying. Personally I would like to see 4 divisions in each league and only the division winners play in the playoffs. No wild card team. Home team would be determined by the team with the best regular season record. Best record plays fourth best record and second best record plays third best record. The two teams that win the pennant face off with the team with the better record getting home field advantage. It's simple...no rocket science here. Of course with Bud Selig running things nothing will be done.

All series should be 7 game series.

Nah. I'm not a fan of the division series on the first place. Just a gimmick from Selig to cash in on more TV revenue that cheapens the accomplishment of making the post season in my opinion. Until the division series came along, and to a lesser extent the league championship series in '69, baseball was the only sport in which a team had to earn its way into the championship via regular season play (Yeah, I'm looking at you hockey!).

Besides, you expand the playoffs any more, and they'll be playing the world series in March as a prelude to spring training!

Yes I agree 7 games. Its too hard to recover after 2 bad games. You could play great and still drop a close 1 and be all but done.

i personally think there should be a best of 7 series for the MLB post-season. Because i think it leads up more excitement and it will most likely make more money for the MLB

God, no! The post season would never end! We'd have to listen to those crappy TBS announcers even longer AND our team would be wiped

It's fine just the way it is
