I've never been one to point the finger at one, well in this case 2 people on a team, but if there was a frickin decent quarterback in their stable they might be able to do somethin!! I've been a Bears fan for 20 + years, but man, defending their losses is realllllly getting old!! And yes losing Jones did and will hurt them a bit!

The Bears need some playmakers on offense, especially behind center. This year they kind of remind of the 2005 Ravens, in that the Ravens had a lot of talent potential and big names on defense, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Adalius Thomas, Chris McCalister, among others, but the Ravens suffered a lot of early season losses which basically phased them out of the playoff scenario (one of which was in Chicago ironically).
The club was pushing Kyle Boller, he was a very likeable, hard working player, he still is today. But under center with no true veteran presence to learn from, he wasn't able to help the offense flourish because he wasn't consistant enough in his technique to be stable.
He was liked by his teammates, some of whom would stick up for him in the face of public criticism against Boller around town. The team however just didn't have a swagger until Boller finally had a good game in a 44-6 blowout of the Packers late in the season.
Next season in comes McNair via trade, he brought in a true veteran presence to the team, that instilled a lot of confidence in the team, and swagger last season. Ever since then, McNair and the offensive coaches for the Ravens have helped to bring out a calm, cool and collective Kyle Boller who is largely in the games that he has responsible in some of the games that he has appeared in for the Ravens that the club has won despite the defense not having it's best performance. The Ravens went from 6-10 to 13-3 last season.
So I think somewhere somehow Chicago needs to bring in a veteran mentor, or find a gem in an offense playmaker that they draft next year to instill some more confidence in the rest of the team personally.
Even at that though, the Bears on defense aren't play at anywhere near the standards they set for themselves last season. I imagine that's harder to do though when you are out on the feilder much longer than you should be.

There offense is the problem. It doesnt matter who they put in at QB it wont get better. There defence has been pretty good for the most part, but there beggining to become like a Arizona defence (No one will know what kinda team will show up, come next game) They better get there stuff together if they want to make the playoffs...

They have been decimated on defense, you must be just a casual football fan if you dont know this.
Their offensive line is old, and the quarterback problems are well documented.
This is Cedric Bensons 5th game as an NFL starter.
Nuff said?

They were the Super Bowl losers last year. Look back through history. The Super Bowl loser, more often than not has a huge letdown the following year. Happens occasionally to Super Bowl winners, but almost every year to the loser.

Well no running back, quarterback, or secondary is part of the problem. Benson isnt worth the 44 million he is getting paid. Grossman and Greise just plan suck. And injuries on defense are really hurting them.

We (the San Diego Chargers and their fans) have their former defensive coordinator, Ron Rivera.

They don't have a quarterback. Grossman was good enough to get them by last year. No so this year.
