My car registration expired and I forgot. I got a ticket. But before the court date, I renewed the registration, so when I went to court, the officer dismissed the charges.

Broken the law, or got caught at it?
Those that haven't broken a law are few and far between. Of those, the ones that got caught are fewer still.
Net result is most people will respond "yes, but nothing happened".

There's so many laws out there, and possibly some I don't even know about. I've broken a number of them. I've never killed anyone or anything, but I've broken laws. I did some shoplifting many years ago and never got caught. Over the years I've done lots of things that I never got caught at. I did get arrested once in my life. I ran over a guy who was abusing a friend of mine. I had gone over there to get her, and when we were trying to leave, he decided to get in front of the car. I kept going and hit him with a glancing blow. He went to the ER and called the police and stuff, but he didn't have any damage more serious than a bruise. I was later arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and some other charges like communicating threats and stuff like that. I got out of jail without posting bail because it was a first time charge. Eventually, the charges against me were dropped because the guy never showed up to court and the cop who arrested me spoke to the DA in my favor.

Sure, I have broken the law a bunch of times. I have spent time in jail because of it. The difference between me and a bunch of pansy whiners on here is I just shut up and accepted my punishment.

I've sped--sometimes I get a ticket, sometimes I don't. I jaywalk--nothing's happened. I drank before I was 21, nothing happened.

Speeding.. only one Ticket and one warning.
When I was young and stupid, I drove when I was dead drunk. It was by the Grace of God I didn't kill anyone. Never got a DUI. I no longer consume alcoholic beverages.
