Why else would he go public with his offer and not just do it in private?
that way when she's actually better/recovered THEN he could've talked about how he had helped her.

I think personally the answer is YES its more about him than her because he will have a huge part to play in her recovery ...hence him becoming a bigger name, if it wasn't partly about him,then he would have stepped in and offered HELP before the Wheels Fell Off..

I would think he is doing it for two reasons: 1) to score high ratings, and 2) because he is tired of hearing about the bad things that go on in her life, as most of us are.

The answer to your question is probably yes. Why not? That is partly the business that he is in. It is a media event and he is part entertainer. I think that he provides a great service.
