The answer to this question greatly depends on what school you go to/professor you have and what your prior interest/range of knowledge of Psychology is. No two Psych 101 classes are the same. I'm not sure how to answer this question since it's very vague, you might want to try asking about specific aspects of the course. (Eg, "How much science is usually done in Psych 101?")

101 is an introductory course in psyche. There is a lot of reference to the human anatomy and the sensual organs. Also the cognitive theories by a few scientists. If you choose this course you might do much better if you add intro sociology also. Always keep a thesaurus on hand, this will aid you.

Mossbreaker is right. I will say that in my case, it was a broad overview of the subject covering a lot of ground. I found it quite entertaining, and it was one of my favorite courses in college.
