I don't follow the Cubs really at all, but "curses" and superstitions aside, what is it about the Chicago Cubs that allows them to make it to the playoffs, only to fail? Is their division weak? Is there some sort of stage fright? How can a team be good in the regular season and then suddenly fall apart?

The Cubs did not have enough talent. Period. Who had the worst record of the National League playoff teams? Right. Chicago won a weak division, and ran into the team that had the best record in the N.L.

The problem with the choke word is that it gives absolutely no credit to the winning team. That's wrong.

I don't know why this is, jsut that this is the way it is. The Chicago Cubs are not a play off team, but yet in all the years the Chicago Cubs have been in the playoffs, that they have been owned by the Chicago Tribune, they have made it 5 times, and not once they made it to the World Series. But they came to be 5 outs away in 2003, for making the World Series for the first time since 1945, so why should there be any question. There also too many players that are not exieprenced in the playoffs, and the ones that are including Dereek Lee didn't even try hard in the playoffs, to get this goal they claim they want to do.

Luck? Baseball's mostly luck, and the playoffs are a crap shoot anyways -the best team doesn't always win. Especially in a 5-game series, it's just who plays the best over the course of a week. And this year, they just were not very good.
