I had a friend that was on my computer and was doing bad stuff on it... How do you delete that kind of stuff so it could never be traced?

dump your:
cache
History
temp folder
temp internet folder
(above are found in c/dox&settings/your user/local settings)(you may have to type it cuz its hidden.
or, if you want the easy way:
backup anything important you have created since ur friend fkd up ur pc, and do systm restore.
it was made for when you get a really bad virus, it wipes it out.
go to start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system restore
select restore computer
then pick the day before ur friend fkd up ur pc and hit OK
it will turn time, and make your computer EXACTLY as it was on that day.

If your are using Internet Explorer and wants to delete the history, then first open your Internet Explorer.
Click on Tools Menu then go to Internet Options. Here in General tab you will find the Delete Cookies and Delete files tab in the center of the screen.
First click on Delete Cookies option to delete all the cookies in the temporary files folder and then click on Delete files option to delete all the offline temporary files.
Now click on the Clear History button to clear your recently visited sites. You can set days to keep pages in history here. Be default it is 20 days, but you can change it from 0 to 99 days. If you set it 1 days, the system will clear your browser history automatically after one day.
Click on Ok button to save your changes.

no longer conceivable whether u purchase something - there is not any longer something which will freshen up a Windoz mess. NOW that assumes u decide to do exactly what u stated. the only thank you to get close is to reinstall Vista from the distribution disk PLUS all the different classes that got here with it. Technically, it nevertheless isn't precisely the way u have been given it initially. If u had yet another new gadget u would desire to clone the no longer basic force - then it may be precisely the comparable.

Deleting files merely renames them and moves them, and are still there to be brought back long after you delted them.
The government overwrites files 7 times before they consider it safe, Guttman said 35 times made it safe.
I use a program called System Mechanic and do a Guttman wipe for my old hard drives, either that or I rip them out and destroy them.......

well if it's real bad, your 'friend' has done you. lol, you can never get rid of the trail, as your internet company will have a copy of everythink as well as the site/server you went on.
download ghost wash
http://www.12ghosts.com/ghosts/wash.htm run it with all the settings ticked in all teh tabs, and click the key to activate the advanced cleaning features.

Download a file shredder and set it to the most secure erase settings, then run the files through it.

I downloaded Privacy Guardian from www.download.com, that might help, or just delete your browsing history every once and a while
