What do you have starting up with the pc?, Not what you can see by the clock but in the msconfig startup tab?, Get Two AntiSpyware Programs, Update their Databases, then run one at a time, then Turn off System Restore, and Do a complete Antivirus Scan with your Internet Cable disconnected from the computer, Good Luck

have u just deleted stuff or actually uninstalled stuff? If u just deleted stuff check to see if the program file is still there. Then uninstall it. Too much stuff on a hardrive can make a com go very slow. And if the com is old get a newer one.

It may be all the things in your start up trying to come on at the same time............ clean that out....... also you may have a virus........ do you use an anti-virus?? if you do run it and see what it finds........... if that doesnt work take it to the computer fixit shop............. or buy a new one....
