i've been through alot of hormonal changes over the past two years. i have been on the depo shot for a year now and it gives me horrible mood swings and i'm always angry and irritable and i think i've only had a solid twenty days without bleeding over the past year i've been on the shot. ive read and heard about a birth control pill called "Yaz" NOT "Yasmine".
"Yaz" is a different pill that is suppose to deal with all the symptoms i've been having. i'm looking for a BC pill that doesnt give me a lot of crazy symptoms and sleepless nights. i dont mind having a normal period, i just dont want to feel so out of control anymore. has anyone heard of or used Yaz? or any BC pill that doesnt make you crazy?

Yeah, its called getting the hell off depo!
Heh, I had HORRIBLE mood swings, as well as many other horrible side affects from the shot.
TOO many women have horrible health issues because of this.
Please review and research this shot before getting it again!

I was on it for four years. I have been on Kariva (pill) now for almost two years and am side affect free!

lol.. The depo shot is awful.. Did that for 4 years mega side effects. I did the "yaz" thing too. Your symptoms are due to the depo shot, not normal PMS... you must first stop the depo and develop a normal period be for a starting the pill. my self I delt the best with the patch after the depo shot... The pill gave me the same side effects but I had to stop the patch because I am allergic to latex! And you must also becarefull if you are taking birth control and using any anti depressants, this can cause the side effects also and the Doctor never tells you that!

LOL My Dr gave me the depo to get RID of PMS. endo symptoms.
It did help a lot, but I also bleed all the time.
I didn't have and don't have the mood swings and irritability as you have had, but after getting the shot in January, I am almost back to normal now in Oct. The previous symptoms are back, but the depo side affects are gone or going.
I suggest to talk to your doctor about whether the 'Yaz" is right for you or not. He/She should know the side effect of it as well.
It is said to be helpful int reating the mood swings and other emotional symptoms and acne as well! You cam learn more from there website. They also have a diary to track your symptoms.
