Exercise!!!

A regular schedule (go to bed and wake up at the same time daily - get enough sleep).

Well-balanced diet: plenty of protein, vegetables, fruit, grains and drink plenty of water (steam distilled the best).

Restrict caffeine, sugar, alcohol, white potatoes, refined carbohydrates.

Especially important: flaxseed oil w/Omega 3. (the ones sold at the health food store that are refrigerated are the best)

St. John's Wort w/SAM-e (ask at the health food store).

Aromatherapy: citrus scents and peppermint will lift your mood. Put drops in a small spritzer with water and spray all around yourself and deeply inhale.

If you tend to get depressed during the fall, get a S.A.D. (seasonal affective disorder) lamp & use it half an hour a day.

Walkman or ipod: get your favorite theme song ready and blast it when you wake up or need a pick up.

Calling someone, going out w/friends, getting out of the house, doing something you enjoy. Make a list of everything that makes you feel good and do something on the list whenever you need a pick up.

Depression support group, where you can interact and learn from others and realize you're not alone.

Write in a gratitude journal every night or morning everything you are grateful for in your life and everything that you're grateful for that happened that day. Prayer or meditation, with candles.

Good luck, you're not alone!

I have been suffering from post partum depression for the past one year when I gave birth to a baby boy. I couldn't stop thinking about how my husband loves him more than me and how things might be better if he wasn't born at all. Thus, I stayed away from him because I knew that I might do something I will regret for the rest of my life.

Almost instantly I went to a therapist and convince them that I need help. Among other things, I've tried herbal supplements and other book to treat depression but nothing works like the Depression Free Method. So now I'm proud to say I'm one of the happiest mother in the world. My husband loves us both very much and I thank the Lord for the blessing he gave us.

Depression Free Method?

Exercise, being outside and seeing the sky and fish oil supplements. Fish oil has been proven over and over to equal or surpass
prescription medicines for depression.

If you take St. John's Wort, it can make you sensitive to sunlight. I do not know if it works or not. Make sure that you have enough magnesium, also, and vitamin D.
Vitamin D was one of the first vitamins discovered. The RDA set now is what they figured would prevent rickets in 1915 or so.
Really we need to have at least 2 grams <2000 mgs> per day.

Play and have fun.

There is St. John's Wart, SAMe, some B-Vitamins, GABA, Ashwagandha, and L-Theanine that all help for general mood support and relaxation. Natural endorphins also help to really feel good... which is why exercise can also help a lot (you produce the most endorphins when you work out).
