She financed this car that she bought from a shady dealership. She financed the car for 7,000 dollars. The car has major things wrong with it. Can she recind this deal? It was only friday when she went through this and she did not listen to anyone who advised her not to buy it....including me. But this is my little grandaughter and I want to help her because she needs this car to get through college. I thought there was a 3 day federal consumer law that would allow one to recind any deal made within the three day window after it was made....is this true? Thank you in advance for ANY information on this.

She lives in Louisiana! She could have had my old Buick (runs great) for free! But she is stubborn and wanted a "newer model". Big mistake!

The 3 day right of rescission mentioned by others ONLY applies to purchases from door to door salesmen. . Unless they brought the car to her UNSOLICITED, she was committed as soon as she signed the paperwork. Even If she changed her mind before she saw the car, signing the contract makes the deal FINAL.

READ all the paperwork she signed with the purchase of the car. I know the 3 day right of recission applied to REAL ESTATE, but I am not sure about car purchases. This may vary state by state. On Monday morning, call the State Department of Consumer Affairs in Baton Rouge, or the office nearest you and ask them.
